Silver Crescent Award
Nominations Deadline
is June 12
The deadline for submitting entries for the 2009 Silver Crescent
Manufacturer of the Year Awards is Friday, June 12, 2009. Application
forms are available at www.silvercrescentsc.org. Completed forms should be
submitted to the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, 1201 Main Street,
Suite 1700, Columbia, S.C. 29201 or faxed to (803) 779-6043.
If you know of a small, medium or large manufacturer that deserves
recognition for their accomplishments, please consider nominating them.
The application and selection process is simple and straightforward.
Selection is based upon:
Quality Improvement Efforts
Quality of Life Programs
Improvements in the Environment
Involvement in Local Community & Economic Development
Education and Workforce Development
Overall Effectiveness
The winning companies will be recognized at the Salute to
Manufacturing on Tuesday, September 22 at the Southeastern Institute of
Manufacturing Technology in Florence.

Connect 2 Business Helps
Promote Career Opportunities
As part of the Personal Pathways to Success initiative, a
web-based portal has been developed to link businesses with South
Carolina students and unemployed adults to promote available career
opportunities. Companies are encouraged to visit the site (www.scpathways.org),
post a company profile and list any job openings or extended learning
opportunities (mentoring, job shadowing, internships, etc.) that may be
available for young people to pursue as part of their career exploration
journey.
There is no fee for joining C2B and it's easy to enroll.

2. Click on the "Businesses" tab at the top
3. Click the "New Users" link on the right side
of the page and
4. Answer a few simple questions to create
your company's profile
