Decisions, Decisions

You enter 8th grade only 48 months away from high school graduation, and 72 months away from a career choice that will determine your future.

Young Adults

The perception that manufacturing is nothing but assembly lines and manual labor is seriously out-of-date. Manufacturers make real products that help make the world a better place to live.

The field of manufacturing involves using creativity and math and science skills to develop new, cutting-edge products that help solve big problems that affect people everywhere. Students who choose to pursue a career in manufacturing today will be involved in solving tomorrow’s medical, environmental, transportation, and food production challenges, just to name a few.

Will you be a pioneer and design something no one else can? Will you develop a new therapeutic device for sick patients, or design a new type of building material that is environmentally friendly? Or maybe you’ll help develop a new way for people to communicate—in the same way that someone had to develop and manufacture the infrastructure that lets people today use cell phones, Blackberries, and text messaging to keep in touch.

There are endless opportunities in this sector for people with a head for math and science and a love for exploring possibilities.
